What are we looking for?
We’re seeking a skilled Backend Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust server-side systems.
The ideal candidate brings strong server-side fundamentals, database and API expertise, and real experience in cloud-native, microservice environments. You should be comfortable owning services end-to-end, and thinking about performance, reliability, and security as first-class problems.
What does a day at Darwin AI’s R&D team look like? You might spend a week deep in C# improving Darwin’s endpoint agent behavior, then switch gears to implement Kafka-based data pipelines and new cloud capabilities in Python (and occasionally Kotlin).
The ideal person is happy to lead and collaborate, think solution-first rather than tech-limited, and is eager to learn as we go.
What experience or knowledge should you bring?
- 5+ years of proven experience in software development in a microservice environment
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience with Kafka-based data pipelines and event-driven architecture
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proactive attitude and ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience and use of GenAI in production — Advantage
- Experience with endpoint agents development (C#) — Advantage
- Experience with Kafka Streams — Advantage
